Welcome to my
online diary of all things Murphy!
Murphy
is an English Cocker Spaniel. He was born on July 22, 2000 and
adopted by me, Meghan, on Oct 1, 2000. This page was started as a way of communicating
with my sister Allison while she was backpacking through Europe.
She left before Murphy came home, and wasn't due back for nearly
2 months. I didn't want her to miss out on Murphy's early days
with us, but we were having a lot of trouble e-mailing her pictures
of Murphy. So I threw up this newsletter, hidden in Bonaventure's
web page.
After Allie returned
home I continued to update this page. It was a way for my out
of town friends to see Murphy as he grew up. Then for a year,
while Murphy and I lived in Kamloops, everyone back home in Vancouver
could keep up to date with all our goings on through this site.
And as an added bonus I now have a diary of Murphy's antics.
Now, five years later, it's just habit to keep this going...and
I get angry e-mails when I go too long without an update. So
I keep posting them.
My newsletters begin
on October 17, 2000. Since his archive is growing, here's a table
of links so you can jump to each year, or go to the index to
choose the specific update you want to view.

If you'd like, you can also
start at the beginning and follow along the links at the bottom
of each page to move forward as he grows up. Or, to catch up
on Murph's recent exploits, go to the
latest news.
Read
about Murphy's origins
if you'd like to know more about how I came to own Murphy. You'll
learn *all* about it. If you'd like to know more about English
Cocker Spaniels as a breed check out What
kind of dog is that. Or you might want to admire the
colours of English Cockers. And I've collected my favourite
cocker and dog links all on one
convenient page.
Feel free to just look
at the pictures of Murph, I really don't expect anyone to sit
and read my hours of text. I write *very* long updates, which
probably doesn't surprise those of you who've ever received letters
from me. I figure it's better to write too much than too little,
since in the future I'll be looking back on these pages to remind
me of the early days with Murphy. Remember, most of this is just
for my reference. So
enjoy, and please don't tell me that I'm a freak for putting
all this up...I already know I am, but have decided to just go
with it.
