Murphy's Newsletter
June 12, 2005

So I'd been debating about this update, simply because I have so few new pictures to post. Murphy and I haven't been up to anything new and exciting lately, and therefore I haven't taken any interesting pictures. I've been working my butt off to buy a condo for Murphy and myself, putting in an extra 30% on top of my full time job, so Murphy has been spending a lot of time with my parents. Not that he minds that - the more time he's with my mom the more treats he gets! But rather than go 6 months without an update I thought I'd post this little series of pictures.

Murphy loves this window in my parents house. I've posted pictures of him peering out of it before, but this series with Patches just struck me as quite cute, so up it goes. Above we have the approach to the window. Murphy must have deposited Patches at the window previously, posed perfectly so she could see out the window and down onto the backyard "kingdom" Murphy considers his own.

Next Murphy moved to the other side of the window so he could peer out to the path that runs through the neighbourhood that's to the left of our house. Often kids play soccer or football along that path, and Murphy quite enjoys barking at them. For some reason he objects to children and the normal noise they make when they're playing.

Then Murphy decided to hunker down for a prolonged viewing of his dominion. Murphy does this most days, just overseeing all that lays beneath him.

And finally he snuggled in to Patches for a combo snooze and viewing. Patches is still his favourite toy by far. In fact, just a few weekends ago Murphy and I went through his toys picking out which ones he wanted to keep and which ones we could give away. I'd take out a toy. If he grabbed it we kept it, if he turned his nose up at it out it went. There were several that he'd barely ever played with, so they were in great shape. We ended up giving away a big bagful to the local animal shelter.

So that's it! The shortest update in years, but certainly more digestible than several of the mammoth ones I've posted in the past. Murphy's birthday is coming up, so there will certainly be lots of new pictures to post by mid summer.
