Murphy and the Christmas treeHello All!

So Christmas and New Years have passed, but the photos are just now being developed, so watch for a couple of updates in the near future. I only have a few pictures to post today, as my film from the holidays hasn't been developed yet. These photos were taken on Allie's camera.

Here we have Murphy posing in front of the tree. You can't see it in any of these pictures, but Murphy left his mark on several of the presents. He loves to rip off the tags and bows, and he was even so helpful as to start unwrapping some of our gifts for us!

And notice his festive collar, which he didn't mind wearing one bit! Another little detail...the present in the bottom right corner of the photo is wrapped in SPCA paper they gave us at the walk in Sept.

Caught with a bowSo, I was saying Murphy likes to rip off the tags and bows? Here he is caught with the evidence. He's pretty good about it, doesn't try to actually consume the bow. I think he really just loves the chase that follows.

And remember, he can't just walk up to the tree to get at the gifts. The whole living room is cordoned off by baby gates. He has to get up onto the treadmill that's next to the couch, launch from the treadmill onto the top of the back of the couch, then leap down to the floor. He looks like a little billy goat perched on the top of the couch. He'll do this right in front of us... he has no shame. At this point I'm not even sure if we should bother with the baby gates, since they aren't deterring him from getting into the room, only forcing him to take a more creative, and dangerous, route.

Murphy helping in the kitchenNext we have Murphy "helping" in the kitchen. This is his standard position in the kitchen. He has to be ordered to stay down on the ground, or else he's up, peering at what we're doing. In fact, I even have a way to tie him down to the cabinets. Frequently he turns his head sideways and snakes out his tongue to get at any crumbs on the counter. He can reach nearly half way back. Here I was just trying to get a picture of that, what we call "counter surfing". But Murphy decided to make it a more exciting shot by actually grabbing a half pound of butter, and dragging it down onto the floor.

Murphy checking out the fridgeAnd then there's the fridge. Murphy loves checking that out, especially if there's a margarine tub he can lick. Cheese sniffing is also a favourite of Murph's. The dog is obsessed with dairy products and substitutes!

Finally, we have me and Murph relaxing on the couch after a long day of Christmas preparations. Murphy is actually quite a snugly dog, when he's exhausted that is.

Snoozing Murph

So that's it for now! I won't get into what Murphy got for Christmas, as there are pictures still to be developed that feature him unwrapping his gifts, etc.
