Hello All!

So these are the final Christmas pictures! Wow these took a long time to get through. This update actually contains some pre Christmas photos too, but I'm going to get through the Christmas ones first, then on to the "regular" photos.

Murphy sniffing the tree

Here we have Murphy sniffing the Christmas tree. This was one of his favourite Christmas pastimes. He didn't do any damage to the tree, he was simply very curious about it. He also enjoyed walking around behind the tree, and emerging covered in pine needles.

Murphy in the fireplace

And here we have Murphy wondering where the hell Santa is. We discovered that the only way to deter Murph from sniffing right into the fireplace was to light a fire in it.

So that's it for Christmas!

Some of these photos date back to early December, but they're really just random shots of Murph, so don't let the time mismatch here bother you!

Murphy smiling Murphy's tattoo

Here we have Murphy smiling for the camera, he does so love to pose. And on the right is a shot of a tattoo that we bought for Murphy. It's a Canadian flag with two paw prints in the centre, where the maple leaf should be. I think it was meant for humans to wear, but come on, what's funnier than a dog with a tattooed belly?

Allie giving Murph a suplexThese next few shots just show Allie and me hanging out in my bedroom with Murph. In the first Allie is giving Murphy a suplex, which he really doesn't mind all that much. I think he figures that as long as he's with us, it's fun no matter how much we annoy him. Allie has also taken to picking him up and tipping him over so his feet are pointing up, and his head dangles down by her knees, and again, it doesn't bother him much.

Murphy with his chin on my kneeThen we have Murphy lounging with his chin on my knee. This is actually a rare pose for him, usually he likes to hang out on my pillow at the top of the bed. Anywhere near my feet is unappealing to him...which I'm trying to work on. The higher a dog sleeps on the bed, the higher rank the dog is supposed to have, so I've been banning him from sleeping anywhere above my head. It's easier said than done though, I woke up this morning to find that he'd moved back up to my pillow while I slept!

Notice how big he looks in the top photo with Allie, and how small he looks in the bottom one with me.

Murphy sleeping by the heater Murphy lounging on my couch

Here are a few more shots of Murphy hanging out in my bedroom. To the left we have him sleeping by my heater. He seems to head over there not just when he's cold, but also to take refuge from anything in the room that's bothering him. Above we have Murphy lounging on his favourite pillow, and begging me, with his eyes, to put down the camera!

Murphy and AllieHere we have Murphy snuggling on top of Allie. Murphy needs to be in a sleepy mood to snuggle like this, so either he was very tired, or we must have posed him for this picture. These were taken more than a month ago, so I can't remember exactly what was going on. Allie and my mother are hoping as he matures that he'll become more of a lap dog. But right now he just has too many things to do to waste time sitting around!

Murphy with his Nylabone Murphy with his Nylabone

Above, Murphy is enjoying his Nylabone, a new one he got for Christmas. I put these two pictures up just because I enjoy the look on his face in these two shots. You can also see his loooooong eyelashes in each shot, if you look carefully. And not just the ones that point up, check out the longer ones that curve down, to touch his cheeks!

Murphy trying on my lip balmAnd finally we have Murphy trying to use my lip balm, but not quite understanding how it is that it's supposed to be applied. He reached up on to my dresser, hunted around with the tip of his nose, reached into my dish that holds all my little stuff like watches and lip balms, and snatched this treasure. He did all this with me no more than 3 feet away from him...the dog has no shame. But, frankly, it was too cute no to take a picture of.

So that's it for now. I have the next update all ready to go, the theme will be "Winter Wonderland", so come back soon!
