Murphy's Newsletter
Oct 25, 2000
Hi Allie!
Since the last update was mostly text,
this one is going to be mostly pictures. This set of photos should
give you a better sense of what Murphy really looks like.

The first picture has Murphy posing for the camera. He really
does stop, look into the lens and wait for the flash. He's such
a star! And get a look at the size of those paws! The second
picture shows you what a difference having his tongue out makes
to his appearance. He looks like he is scowling anytime he's
not panting. And can you see his "Murphy" tag? The
third one gives you a better look at his long spaniel nose. That
photo took a lot of time to get: off to the left of the frame
I'm holding up a Cheerio. I'm amazed it turned out so well.
This
is one of Murphy's favourite activities: playing with the doorstop.
He bats at it with his paw and bites it. Then, as you can see
in this photo, he barks at it, sometimes adding a howl. He likes
to do this sprawled out on the floor, frequently rolling over.
Ann got quite the kick out of this. A friend
of hers installed an entire row of stoppers for her dogs to play
with!
This
is Murphy choosing a toy from his new toy box. The hedgehog under
his front paw is his new favourite. It rattles plus, if you squish
it, it makes almost like a honking sound. Murphy has discovered
that if he holds one end of it in his mouth and slams the other
end into the floor, it makes the sound. The big green ball is
a "Wiggly Giggly". it makes different sounds as you
roll it. Murphy's not too sure about that one yet.
For the end of this update I thought I'd show you
Murph's end! I took this photo because Dad just loves Murphy's
bum: the big patch of black around his tail, the white tip of
his tail, the tan on his bum and the little wisps of white at
the bottom.
So that's it for now! I have tons more
pictures but I don't want to post them all here since it would
make this page terribly time consuming to load. Plus, I'm sure
you are getting Murphied out. God knows I don't want that to
happen before you even get home because I'm going to need all
your enthusiasm in tact so I can pawn him off on you (occasionally!)
when I run out of patience with the little guy.
