Tramp

Hello All!

So I've been getting a lot of complaints about taking too long with this update. But if any of you had ANY idea how much work the respiratory therapy program is, you'd understand that I have absolutely no free time! And the free time I have is better spent on Murphy himself, rather than writing about him, so I've just had to prioritize. At any rate, here's a gigantic new update. I'm going to have to split this into at least 2 separate pages. I'm hoping to get them all up pretty much at the same time, as, after this weekend, it's soon back to studying from sun up til way past sun down. This first one is just sort of a catch all of various pictures taken from spring to summer 2002.

Enough about me, on to Murphy!

But first, a sad note. Over the summer one of our online friends lost her American Cocker in a hit and run. We were all very shocked to hear about Tramp's passing, so here's a little memorial to Tramp that another one of our online friends made:

Going even *further* back, we have me and Murphy on a hike. Heidi took this picture when we went for a little hike over in West Vancouver. There was absolutely no snow down where we live, but up the side of On a hike in the snowthe mountain a bit you hit snow pretty quickly. It was after this hike that I started thinking maybe I ought to get Murphy a rainsuit of some sort. Just look at him, covered in dirt, and soaking wet. The wetness isn't a problem on your average Vancouver day, but once you're in the snow it must get awfully chilly for him.

Back to this summer...wow, this was a long time ago, wasn't it? Murphy turned two years old on July 22. Murphy went for a nice long walk, had brunch at Three Dog Bakery, ate a liver cake from Bizkits and had a bubble bath! It might sound cruel to give your dog a bath on his birthday, but when you consider just how mucky he got during our walk at the park, you'd then understand why a birthday bath was in order. Oh, what Murphy will put up with! At first he wasn't so sure about the bubbles (they were just his dog shampoo, poured under the tap so it would foam) but once I added in his duckie he was having a good time.

Next we have a couple of shots taken by Allie. Allie has been really missing Murphy since she moved to Thunder Bay and I moved to Kamloops. She's been *begging* for updates, which is why I'm spending my first free Saturday in 6 weeks typing all this! Allie's camera really captured his coat nicely.

Next we have a couple of shots of Murphy in different moods: sleepy and pouty.

And then we have a couple of shots of Murphy going to...

Tugging to go to daycare

I can't quite open the gate!

Exhausted in the car

...and coming home from daycare. Note how excited he is to get to daycare. I'm having to use both hands to keep him under control. Yet, by the end of the day, he's pouncing on the gate to get out. I swear, had I given him a few more visits, he would have figured out how to flip open the latch on the gate. Allie took the last photo. Murphy will also lay his head down on the edge of the seat to snooze. Oh, and if Allie has her head down there? Then he'll just rest his chin on her head to have a snooze on the way home.

So that's it for the catch all update. Next up, the move to Kamloops!
